Sara Woods
Kender, Associate Herbalist
~ I
began my
journey into herbalism at a young age. Always spending hours in the
woods near my rural home of Alton, NH, I found sanctuary there. Spending
time with the
trees and plants of the forest, hours of walking along logging roads of
past and present closely observing mosses & ferns of the forest floor.
Maneuvering through gnarled roots, streams and glacial till and just
feeling at home; at peace. With my
father's love of subsistence gardening and my grandmother's love of
ornamentals, I came by it honestly. There was always something missing
to me though. Always something in the back of my mind prompting me to
take it a step further. After much reading and experimenting with the
plants on my own, I found Misty Meadows in the Spring of 2008. I
completed the seven month Herbal Apprenticeship and finally found the
stepping stones that would become my path. For a short time I became
the Junior Herbalist while continuing my education in the Advanced
Herbal Studies Program and now enjoy the benefits of becoming the
Associate Herbalist where I can continue my herbal journey learning,
healing and being in contact with people who seek healing as well as
give it. I also became an ordained minister receiving my certificate
from the Universal Life Church in 2008. This allows me to do hands-on
healing channeling the universal life force of Reiki in the Usui-
Tibetan Enhanced Tradition. I continue to participate in workshops,
conferences and classes to hone my skills as a healer and broaden my
knowledge as an herbalist.

Kate Palmieri and Cindy Barstow , 2010 Misty
Meadows Jr. Herbalists.
Kate and Cindy graduated from The Spirited
Herbalist: A Plant-Guided Journey to Your SELF in 2009 and were chosen
to continue their studies by working in the herb shop at Misty Meadows
from January through October of 2010.
Jr. Herbalists are chosen based on their
outstanding performance as apprentices and their promise as future
practicing herbalists. Kate and Cindy greet customers, listen to
their stories, answer herbal questions, blend custom teas and extract
compounds. They also run the shop, process mail orders, and answer
the phone.
Jr. Herbalists are also given the opportunity to
observe Wendy Fogg in consultation with her patients. This is a
wonderful way for these budding herbalists to develop intake skills,
build rapport with patients, learn diagnostic and listening skills and
build their self confidence.
Kate is also enrolled in the 2010 Advanced Herbal
Studies Program. An accomplished gardener, she also co-manages the
gardens at Misty Meadows.
Cindy is self employed and is involved in land conservation efforts in
the town of Wakefield, NH.

Bethany
Sulecki MA, B.B.S.
graduated cum laude from the University System of New
Hampshire and holds a Bachelors Degree in the Behavioral
Sciences with a concentration in Gerontology and Family
Dynamics. She graduated from Corinthian College, Brookline, Ma
in 1977 and worked within the medical community in private
practice and clinical settings as a medical assistant until
1986. Beth also attended Mt Ida College in Newton Wellesley, Ma.
and is certified in Thanantology which is the study of
bereavement and the dying process. In 1996, she actively began
hospice training and assisted many people through their final
transition.
Women’s empowerment classes and workshops are vitally important
to the work Beth is here to do. Teaching classes in areas of
self help, conditioned responses due to unconscious societal
patterns, family dynamics and its effect on personal growth,
vibrational and energy medicine, Reiki and spiritual disciplines
are some of the areas in which she finds her greatest
satisfaction. As a student of the Yogic tradition for many
years, Beth studied subjects including the Bhagavad Gita,
Feminine Archetypes, and Kundalini Rising.
As an Energy Worker, Beth firmly believes the health of the body
is greatly enhanced by clearing energetic blocks due to
repressed emotion. Through actively addressing these areas of
bodily and psychological discomfort we bring balance and peace
to the physical body which affects the emotional and spiritual
bodies.Pain is our body’s signal that attention is needed. By
interpreting and addressing these areas of blocked energy, we
can release these OLD stored issues which wreak havoc on our
well being. When the “flood gates” of these OLD energies are
released, new waves of healing energy are allowed to take its
place. Beth incorporates Reflexology and Reiki to assist in the
release of these blockages. As a certified hypno-therapist, Beth
incorporates past life regression as another tool to eliminate
these harmful patterns.
Beth resides in Merrimack, NH.
